Challenge
The client faced challenges with:
- Maintaining Historical Drawings of key Areas of Newport Dock & Garston Dock.
- The size of the original documents did not allow for easy access and viewability due to being over five metres in length (in some cases).
The Journey
Our team of industry experts engaged directly with the client, visiting their premises to understand their specific requirements for MDSS’s Personable Service.
After identifying the client’s needs, we collected a sample of drawings to process for the client before committing to an agreement.
Our DBS-checked staff processed the initial sample and shared the scans with our contact at ABP, who was happy to proceed with the scanning job. We then arranged for the remainder of the drawings to be collected and processed. We did have a drawing that was over five metres long and was made from thick Papyrus Paper, which we had to be careful about handling and processing for the client, which due to its age was considered fragile.
Results
- Successfully scanned historical documents to be kept forever digitally.
- Allows ABP to share these drawings digitally
